MUSIC

The Redlands Eisteddfod music discipline is widely regarded as a friendly competition in which participants are provided with valuable performance opportunities. Competitors each receive a written evaluation by experienced adjudicators with expertise in their respective fields.

Competitors, provided they are amateur in status, may choose to enter solo, duet, trio or quartet sections for, strings, brass, woodwind, percussion and voice. In Music Part 1 competitors may choose to enter solo or duet sections . Part 2 Music will include our new Chamber Music Section for trios, quartet or quintet. School groups may enter sections large or small instrumental ensembles, guitar ensembles, string ensembles or orchestras, small vocal emsembles, choirs, concert bands or stage bands. There are also several choral and instrumental sections in which community groups may participate.

While quality trophies and medallions (and frequently cash prizes) are awarded, the ultimate aim of the competition is to provide encouragement and experience and to assist competitors in their quest to reach their performance potential.
